Crazy Love
- Uncast white Plastina

As my wife and I binge watch so many great cable series, we have come to a source of laughter about the near impossible athletic accomplishment positions, of the all over the top important sex scenes. It seems as if there is a competition to create an even more rapid fire, spontaneously out of control scene that: tried. Over a dinner with old friends and two bottles of wine-we all laughed that it may be a plot instigated by the American Chiropratic Association! We decided that four out of five Americans would spend a month in traction if they ever tried these acrobatic events! But, I am a sculptor. The joking at an Italian Restaurant gave me an idea for this sculpture, which I had to borrow a pen from the waiter, to draw on a paper at the table. They all laughed at me.
I wired up two figures in an unusual, if not impossible to maintain position of a kissing embrace. But, again the creative process takes over and the most interesting surrealistic body formations became a beautiful pretzel jumble.
Again, there was my love of complete entanglement of limbs and grasping and touching between a man and woman.
The muscles and all body parts became an interwoven design of repetitive bulbous shapes as part of extended and curving limbs. I saw this as almost the love embracing arms of two Octopi. There was such controlled flailing, that you weren’t sure what it was when you first looked at it. You had to stare through the maze of shapes to suddenly see it made perfect sense….in a way.
As these rounding bulbous entangled forms became a composition of balance , I saw a greater form of beauty within the piece.
Paul Simon’s “Crazy Love” played in my head… “the fire in your life”
I often I think that pregnant women have a unique beauty that speaks to all life itself.
Famous painters such as Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso, Lucian Freud, and so many more, have paid homage to the ultimate miracle of life-creating new life.
She became fully pregnant, perhaps soon to be delivering new life into the world. This took this complicated and incredibly technically challenging sculpture to actually work, to a special and unique level.
I remember how beautiful wife looked to me when she was pregnant.
Patricia loved being being pregnant! Interestingly, most women in addition to not feeling that good -also do not feel that attractive. I think it is important to say “You are sexy and attractive and even more beautiful to me. I want to touch and feel you, during this miracle. A female of any species creating a new life inside her body has always said to me-that there is some force or divine intelligence that makes this magic happen.
We can call it God.
